Installing filters in Microsoft LocStudio

Today I received a mail via www.proz.com with a question about how to import a filter into LocStudio.

This is very easy to do:

  1. Make sure LocSudio is not open.
  2. Copy the filter file (.lsf) to the folder C:\%ProgramFiles%\LocStudio\filters.
  3. Start LocStudio.

The filter is now available in the user filters.

  1. Thanx a lot for your guidance.

Can you let me know that is the content automatically filtered and localized or we have to manually do it.

If it has to be manually done, can u plz let me know how.

    Thank You in advance.

  2. The filter is only used to display the resources that requires localization.

So you need to localize them manually.

    • Hi Jonny,

could you pls tell me how to apply the custom filters? The option ‘Apply filters’ is greyed out. Many thanks.

      • Hi Tina,

The filters work on the content of the Translation Table.

So you need to first open resources in the Translation Table (select a ressource or ressource group and press F4), and then you can apply the filter on the strings displayed in the translation table.

  3. ok, know it by know, thanks anyway

  4. Can we run the filters from LSCMD, as I need to use commend line to edit some data inside Loc Studio packages, but I don’t know how to run filters from CMD environment.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

  5. No. Unfortunately it is not possible to use filters with LSCMD from the command line.
